Urs Haensenberger, born in 1953, lives in Bern. He studied philosophy, social and economic history, and public law, and has been working extensively with analogue, predominantly black-and-white photography since the late 1980s.

In the E19 exhibition, Urs Haensenberger presents a photographic approach that seeks the unexpected, new perspectives, abstraction within the concrete, and the poetry of the unsightly.

Verena Lafargue Rimann is an artist and a member of the SGBK (Swiss Society of Visual Artists). She lives and works in the Biel/Bienne region and creates works in painting, drawing and related media.

At etage, Verena Lafargue Rimann is exhibiting 19 works from her long-standing practice of painting, in which observation, form and colour become independent visual statements.

Susan Mezquita is a Dominican visual artist and art educator who has been living in Biel/Bienne since 2004. Her practice encompasses, amongst other things, printmaking, painting, installation, cultural education and projects with children.

Susan Mezquita brings to the E19 group exhibition a visual and educational practice that combines printmaking techniques, mixed media, installation and cultural participation.

Anna Neurohr is an artist and graphic designer who lives and works in Ftan in the Lower Engadine, as well as regularly in Biel/Bienne and Bern. After several years as a florist, she attended the School of Design in Bern and Biel. Through drawing, painting and photography, she explores her observations of the Alps, geology, vegetation and the mythological tales of the Engadin. In 2019, she was awarded the Prix Kunstverein by the Kunstverein Biel, and she was an artist-in-residence at the Fundaziun Nairs.

Anna Neurohr brings an alpine-inspired, drawing- and photography-based perspective to the exhibition. Her works translate observations of the Engadin landscape – vegetation, rock formations, traces of mythology – into series of images and drawings.
