The July exhibition of the 2025 season at étage 19 brings together four artists: Chantale Demierre presents paintings and drawings from an intensive artistic practice, Kurt W. Schweikart (1940–2023) presents, in a posthumous exhibition, works from a long career in painting and printmaking; Christian Spahni presents works in the field of printmaking and painterly reduction; and Daniel Turtschi presents a drawing-based and conceptual body of work. For the closing event on 6 July 2025, Suzanne Castelberg will present a musical intervention entitled “Stimmwerk”.

Artists
Chantale Demierre is a visual artist based in the Biel/Bienne region. Her body of work in painting and drawing is characterised by a distinctive visual language and intense use of colour, and is firmly rooted in the regional art scene.
At etage 19, Chantale Demierre is exhibiting paintings and drawings in which a distinctive visual language emerges, blending colour, form and inner energy.
Kurt W. Schweikart (1940–2023) was an artist and a long-standing member of etage 19. His work in painting and printmaking is characterised by an intense exploration of colour, form and painterly substance. The exhibition at etage 19 in July 2025 is a posthumous presentation of his work.
Kurt W. Schweikart (1940–2023) is being honoured posthumously at the étage 19: the exhibition brings together works from his painting and printmaking output and commemorates a prominent artistic voice from the region.
Christian Spahni is an artist based in the Biel/Bienne region. His work spans the fields of printmaking, painting and minimalist drawing, combining technical precision with a distinctive visual artistic expression.
At etage 19, Christian Spahni is exhibiting 19 graphic and painterly works in which minimalism, line and pictorial space coalesce to form a precise and understated artistic statement.
Daniel Turtschi is an artist based in Switzerland. His artistic practice combines drawing and conceptual approaches and is firmly rooted in the regional art scene of the Biel/Bienne area.
At étage 19, Daniel Turtschi presents a graphic and conceptual approach in which observation, reduction and a distinctive visual language come together.
Concert
Suzanne Castelberg is a vocal artist and interdisciplinary artist based in the Biel/Bienne region. She develops vocal and sound projects at the intersection of music, performance and the visual arts, and is a member of the SGBK.
To mark the closing of the exhibition, Suzanne Castelberg is presenting ‘Stimmwerk’, a musical intervention in which the human voice is used as a medium of sound and space.
