Marie José Comte

Marie Jose Comte is an Italian-Swiss artist based in Biel/Bienne. Following an artistic education at the Accademia di Brera in Milan, a degree in architecture at EPFL in Lausanne and training in art education at the University of Bern, she has been creating installations, drawings, paintings, collages and photographic works since the 1980s. Her work revolves around people, nature, space, rhythm and transformation.

At étage 19, Marie José Comte presents an installation and drawing-based body of work that brings together the observation of nature, spatial thinking, repetition and transformation.

Michèle Dillier

Michele Dillier, who grew up in Basel in 1956, has been living and working as an artist in Biel since 1996. For many years, she was in charge of intaglio printing at the Atelier de Gravure in Moutier and taught at the School of Design in Biel. Her practice primarily encompasses photographic processes, printmaking techniques, moving images and installations, often incorporating light, found materials and subtle shifts in meaning.

Michele Dillier presents an installation in which light, projection, print and found materials come together to form poetic images that straddle the visible and the hidden.

Jerry Haenggli
Jerry Haenggli

Jerry Haenggli, born in Vevey in 1970, lives and works in Biel/Bienne. His work in drawing, painting and related media explores freedom and its limits, seeking out pictorial spaces in which consciousness, tension, resistance and openness become visible.

Jerry Haenggli brings a drawing- and painting-based approach to the exhibition, one that oscillates between concentrated line, dark energy and the question of inner and outer spaces of freedom.

Esther van der Bie

Esther van der Bie, born in Arbon in 1962, works with photography and installation. Her works have been exhibited at venues including the Centre PasquArt Biel/Bienne, the Kunstmuseum Thurgau and the Kunsthaus Grenchen. She combines photographic observation, installation-based arrangements and a reflective exploration of nature, perception and cultural visual spaces.

At étage 19, Esther van der Bie presents a photographic installation in which images of nature, perception and subtle disorientations are interwoven.

Amin Mokdad

Amin Mokdad, born in Biel in 1984, is a saxophonist, flautist and versatile musician. He performs in jazz and ensemble settings and is listed on the invitation as the saxophonist for the closing event on 28 September 2025.

Amin Mokdad will be playing the saxophone at the exhibition’s closing event on 28 September 2025.
